›Polar launches the new CS600X A pro’s cycling system – now with GPS route mapping

Kempele, Finland – 2. February, 2009 – Polar Electro, market leader and pioneer of heart rate training technology, has introduced route mapping functionality to its CS600 cycling system to create the most advanced and flexible training management tool for the cycling market, the CS600X.

The new CS600X is for professional road cyclists and for anyone who wants to ride with the best of the best. As can be seen every year during the Tour de France, pro cyclists are relying on proven Polar products. Nearly all stage winners in 2008 were from teams sponsored by Polar and using Polar cycling computers. Also the Mountain and Points classification winners were riders racing in Polar sponsored teams.

In addition to category leading heart rate, speed and distance, and altitude information, the CS600X records positioning information with the G3 GPS sensor W.I.N.D. and enables users to download route information to their PC after the training session. Routes are shown in ProTrainer 5, the software included with the CS600X, and can also be easily exported to other mapping and positioning software such as Google Earth. With the wide-ranging and unrivaled features of ProTrainer 5 it is possible to plan workout in advance, transfer the settings to the cycling computer, analyze training results with versatile graphs and follow long-term development with detailed reports.

CS600X is fully compatible with the range of W.I.N.D. sensors from Polar, including the CS speed sensor™, CS cadence sensor™, and Power Output Sensor™ which provides deep understanding of the cycling economy and technique with data about cycling power, pedaling rate, left/right balance, and pedaling index. The user also benefits from the extremely good visibility of the training information from the large LCD even at maximum speed.

The aerodynamic and lightweight CS600X comes with new, appealing design that fulfills the requirements of any dedicated cyclist.
